About Troop 325

Boundary Waters - 2004 Boy Scout Troop 325 was chartered by the People of Praise community in 1981. One of the largest troops in the LaSalle Council, it is also one of the most active. We take pride in putting the “outing” into scouting and in reaching out to help others in the Michiana area.

During the last three years, Troop 325 Boy Scouts have participated in the Philmont backpacking experience in the Sangre de Christo mountain range (northern New Mexico); hiked the Appalachian Trail (Tennessee and North Carolina); and fished and canoed in Boundary Waters (Canada).

Another remarkable attribute of Troop 325 is the amazing number of young men who have “soared with the Eagles.” Jeremy Finke earned the distinction of becoming Troop 325’s first Eagle Scout in 1980, and many have followed suit, 40 Eagle Scouts through 2004, with more scouts expected to attain the rank of Eagle in 2005. Through the leadership of these young men, projects to benefit local Hoosiers have been completed in numerous locations around the area including: The Res, Camp Tannadoonah, Reins of Life, Potawatomi Zoo, Trinity School at Greenlawn and many more.

If you’re a young man in grade 6 through high school who’s interested in year-round camping, black powder and shotgun shooting, southern Indiana caving, rock climbing, or soaring like an Eagle, contact Mr. Dennis Staffelbach, Scoutmaster, at (269) 684-5886 or by email at deanoft@yahoo.com.
